From Recanto Park Hotel to Recanto Cataratas
Recanto opened on July 7, 1990, in Foz do Iguaçu as Recanto Park Hotel. The house still celebrates its anniversary on that date.
In 2014, after more than R$ 30 million in expansion and renovation, it became Recanto Cataratas Thermas Resort & Convention. The new name sums up what it had grown into: thermal waters, resort leisure and a convention center.
In 2025 and 2026, the resort is receiving R$ 190 million in investment: R$ 120 million for 240 new rooms, R$ 40 million for events and R$ 30 million for leisure. The new water area, with a swim-up bar and waterfall, opened in December 2025. The expanded Maestra, with a hall for more than 4,500 people, opened on August 7, 2026.
What you'll find at the resort
- Pools: naturally thermal water outdoors, a heated indoor pool and a kids' water park.
- Dining: Aranda Restaurant, Bromélia Brasserie, Bihai Poolside Bar and a Coffee Shop, serving regional, Brazilian and international food. Our Pudim Recanto, a Brazilian flan, won the 2025 Pudim de Ouro award from Visit Iguassu.
- Entertainment plaza: London Pub, NY Vibe Disco Club, bars and cafés.
- Sports and games: bowling, bocce, tennis courts, a soccer field, a sand court, a Fitness Center, a game room and an arcade.
- Wellness: Java Jiwa SPA by B.Well, with therapies and massages surrounded by greenery.
- Kids: a kids' club team with activities all day and a kids' space.
- Services: free Wi-Fi and parking.
Prime Wing, Collection Wing and Maestra
The Prime Wing holds the Premium and Master Suites and the Luxo and Standard rooms. This is where you'll find the suites with whirlpool tubs and views of the thermal pool or the woods.
The Collection Wing is the newest, opened in December 2019 with its own front desk, restaurant and leisure area: contemporary 38 m² (409 sq ft) rooms.
Maestra is the event and convention center, separate from the guest areas, with more than 40 rooms and foyers.
Recanto Collection is something else: the resort’s timeshare vacation club, with exchanges through RCI. It is not a room type. See how it works.
